Train-the-Trainer: Qualified Trainer of Oral Fluid Drug Test Collectors Certification
The DOT Oral Fluid Collector Train-the-Trainer Certification Program prepares experienced professionals to train and evaluate individuals seeking qualification as DOT oral fluid specimen collectors. Based on 49 CFR Part 40, particularly §40.35, and official DOT/ODAPC guidance, the course focuses on the regulatory knowledge, collection procedures, and instructional skills necessary to develop competent collectors. Participants learn how to teach proper oral fluid collection procedures, Federal CCF completion, specimen integrity and security, problem collections, collector responsibilities, and the identification and correction of collection errors. The program also provides instruction on conducting and evaluating the five consecutive error-free mock collections required for each collection device used by a collector. Upon completion, participants will understand how to train collectors, evaluate proficiency demonstrations, document collector qualification, conduct applicable error-correction training, and use official DOT/ODAPC resources to remain current with regulatory requirements.
